DESCRY & TRUTH PURPLE NEBULA PREORDER SALE
Two old pedals are making a comeback! DESCRY and TRUTH were my two first designs, incorporating a ton of features into a killer and easy to use fuzz box. Both will now be available at a SPECIAL price for preorder only! First 25 orders I’m planning to ship in about 6-8 weeks. I will put a new batch up for presale when 25 are reserved and that batch will be shipped a few weeks after. Presale will go from the 15th to through the end of april. All pedals will feature a Purple Nebula Sparkle finish with Flying Saucer knobs and Prismatic all seeing eye logo. Here’s a description of each below…
Descry is a highly modified fuzz firmly rooted in the Germanium 3 transistor Bender family. Starting with the MKI Bender circuit at its core, a Filter style tone control found on the MKIII and MKIV Bender is added. Next I’ve replaced the traditional Attack control with a more conventional Bias control that gives you a greater range of tones and textures than found on a typical MKI style Bender. Controls right to left; Bias: This control technically does what the attack control would do, but with a greater range of character including some “System” qualities. Lower settings offer a lower gain fuzz tone like you might hear in a Maestro FZ1 style, as you turn it up the sustain blooms into an open, ripping, highly textured fuzz. Past noon things start to get wild, eventually becoming very spitty and gated. Filter: Filter tone control lifted directly from the MKIII/MKIV Benders and placed at the end of the MKI circuit allows for fine tuning of the overall timbre of the fuzz. Thin and bright to the left, dark and brooding to the right without affecting the gain or feel of the fuzz. “Stock” MKI tones can be found around Noon and up to full clockwise. Volume: Standard volume control, this control will go well past unity, start around 9 o’clock and work your way up to find the sweet spot.
Truth is based on the Colorsound One Knob Fuzz. Expanded with more control and a Hybrid Silicon/Germanium transistor setup. BIAS (middle) knob gives the user control of the Germanium transistor’s voltage, changing the texture of the fuzz from gated to smooth to spitty and everywhere in between. Familiar fuzz tones from Bender to FuzzFace with a thick tone that emphasizes midrange and low end. Exceptional guitar volume cleanup with the bias knob set open. FUZZ control (right) can take the sound anywhere from low gain chunky overdrive to full on wall of fuzz, with both less or more fuzz on tap than a typical Colorsound one knob fuzz. The VOLUME control (left) can tame the output to your liking or push your amp into distortion.
NOS components used through both pedals (exact components vary but I will try to keep them similar within batches). Super clean custom PCB with built in battery holder cutout. True bypass with 9v center negative isolated operation, or internal battery, unplug input to save battery life.
