The circuit borrows values from several eras of Muffs. Utilizing the output stage and clipping filter stages from the Civil War BMP, tone stack and input section from the ‘73 Rams Head BMP, its tuned to keep the classic Muff tone with plenty of rich midrange and sustain. The HYBRID WAR RAM also uses Germanium transistors in the clipping stages for a warmer, thicker midrange response with unique texture and feel. Tons of output and a balanced midrange allows this one to cut nicely and sit well in a mix, great for big clear chords and solos with huge sustain.
Built in a replica style bent steel two tone black/silver with BLUE screen print enclosure on my NEW PCB for a super clean and classic build. 9v Jack or battery powered, plus true bypass and LED indicator offer modern convenience.
The Germanium transistors needed to build these are a little tricky to get right, they need to be high enough gain AND not leaky/noisy, so they’ll only be available in limited quantities for now.
