Z-Machine

The Z-Machine is my version of the 60’s Germanium Zonk Machine fuzz, built the old way!
 
A close cousin to the MKI Tonebender, the Zonk Machine is the lean, aggressively stringy counterpart to the MKI. Plays especially well with hot pickups but equally at home with single coils. Compared to the low-midrange emphasis on a MKI, the Zonk excels at high and high-mid tones. If you dig thin and spitty fuzz with lots of sustain and a gating artifacts, or you find a MKI has a bit too much bloom with your setup you’ll love the Z-Machine.
Meticulously built on the same style Wide-Pitch Vero Stripboard as the originals, the Z-Machine uses the circuit from the Zonk to recreate its classic tones in a smaller footprint with modern features like a center negative 9v power jack and LED indicator, painted and built completely by hand. NOS capacitors and Germanium transistors are used throughout, specific components are subject to availability, though I am able to make a ripping Zonk with a variety of caps and transistors.
 
Available in four classic Hammered Color options; Gold, Silver, Copper or Black. Two enclosure size options, 1590BB (pedalboard friendly) or 1590J (big vintage vibes). Power Jack and LED also available as an add on for no extra cost.
